I have a Yahoo e-mail account and want to automatically have my mail moved into my USPostMail account so I only have to read mail from one place

See NOTES at end of this document!

Yahoo and many other service providers (including USPostMail) allow you to read mail from an external program such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora and more.  USPostMail goes one better -- from within your USPostMail account, you can tell USPostMail to collect mail from other services -- such as Yahoo -- and put them into your USPostMail mail box!

Here's instructions for Yahoo (and many others):

1) Log on to your USPostMail account

2) Go to MAIL OPTIONS, click on the RPOP tab

3) Set the "poll every" to the right setting (how often you want your other mail box checked.

4) Enter your Yahoo (or other) e-mail  POP logon name (in the case of Yahoo this is your account name without  '@yahoo.com').

5) For SMTP server put    pop.mail.yahoo.com  (this will be something different for other mail systems.

6) For PASSWORD enter your Yahoo password (or the password for the mail system you're trying to access)

7) Check LEAVE if you want mail left on your Yahoo account (probably not or you'll have to go in regularly and delete it)

8) Check APO or TLS if you know that your mail systems support this encrypted means of mail retrieval (probably not).

9) Click UPDATE

After a couple of moments (as long as 2 minutes) the screen will update and you will receive a message if the last poll was successful -- if it wasn't, you'll get an error message that will tell you what didn't work right.

Mail from your old account will not appear as new mail in your USPostMail account.

9/20/03 Several e-mail services, including Yahoo, have recently restricted POP access to mail accounts unless you purchase enhanced services from them.  USPostMail thinks this is a unfair and will reimburse you up to three free months of service to USPostMail to cover any added expenses you pay to use such services (you do have to use our RPOP to successfully retrieve from a paid service before we will reimburse you).
